In our front garden stands the most beautiful Bull Magnolia tree. Its flowers are as large as a dinner plate and there hundreds of them. Florists have been known to stop by and offer to buy them.
I think it is the reason I was drawn to the house, which was in quite a bad state of disrepair when we found it during a very rushed trip home from the USA. Inch by inch we are making it as lovely as we can. A giant work in progress which we have hated and loved at the same time.
Here is one of the magnolia flowers. My friend Kel and I spent ages arranging them on different backgrounds. She is a beautiful photographer. We plan on getting enlarged copies framed for our respective living rooms. Hers in America, mine in Sydney Australia. Damn that distance!! Love that we still share a passion for and all things beautiful!!
Another magnolia. Love the lighting in this one.
A rose from my parent's in-law's garden in Morperth, New South Wales. Photo also by Kel
My daughter Mia. Who's dream is to marry a prince and carry a white magnolia on her wedding day.
